This evening I saw the movie Just Go With It at AMC Cinemas, Pacific Place, Admiralty, Hong Kong. One of the movies from my Must See Movies list.

It is a romantic comedy starting Adam Sandler as Danny and Jennifer Aniston as Katherine where Nicole Kidman has a supporting role as the evil Devlin Adams. Danny is someone who lost fate with marriage and decides to use marriage to get into the hearts of women.

Every characters in the movie help make it a 4 penguins for me. Sandler draw his role from Click, a person who is good deep down but portrays himself as a different person to others. Kidman does not play her glamours self but instead draw from her experience in The Golden Compass to play Aniston's antagonist. Before this movie Aniston has quite a few flops: The Switch, The Bounty Hunter and Love Happens. This movie takes advantage of her usual cute underdog character and match it perfectly with the other characters, making her character believable to the audience.

The other supporting characters are very good too. Nick Swardson who supported Sandler in Click. Aniston's children in the movie, Bailee Madison and Griffin Gluck are very good, where Gluck potentially becoming an actor to watch for the future. Dave Matthews plays a person pretending to be Jonathan Ive. The only exception being Brooklyn Decker whose character confuses us, as to whether to treat her as a dumb-blonde character or an innocent country girl, because she flips back and forth between these stereotypes.

This is a very enjoyable movie giving any audience; not only fans of Sandler, a great night out of laughter. This is definitely a good first choice at the box office.

This evening I saw the movie No Strings Attached at AMC Cinemas, Admiralty, Hong Kong. One of the movies from my Must See Movies list.

It is a romantic comedy staring Natalie Portman (Emma) and Ashton Kutcher (Adam), playing two life long friends who have sex one morning. In an effort to protect their friendship, they decide to make a pack to keep their relationship as "no strings attached" (aka. friends with benefits). The movie has made popular a quote among the social networks.

What I need is someone who's going to be in my bed in 2 a.m. who I don't have to lie to or eat breakfast with... Use each other for sex at all hours of the day and night, nothing else.

Portman definitely carries this movie where the rest of the actors done an okay job of supporting her. Even though Kutcher has an equal billing for this movie, his role is nothing special. It's similar and at times identical to all other roles he played in the past: Killers, Valentine's Day and What Happens in Vegas.

On the other hand I have enjoyed Portman's performances since her role as Mathilda in Luc Besson's The Professional, then as Queen Amidala in Star Wars: Episode I - The Phantom Menace and Evey in V for Vendetta.

This a fun entertaining movie to watch with your love one. It is definitely a good option if there's nothing else to choose from at the theater.

This afternoon I saw the movie Knight and Day at AMC Cinemas, Pacific Place, Admiralty, Hong Kong. One of the movies from my Must See Movies list.

The leads in this movie are Tom Cruise and Cameron Diaz who had one of their best performances of both careers.

Cruise had matured as an actor and this time he did not play an amateur spy role as he did in the Mission Impossible franchises. Although Diaz still plays her cute girl next door character as she did in the Charlie Angels franchises, this time she has a much more mature role. This may be due to both actors being older than when both stared in the respective franchises.

The stunts were impressive, fresh and believable. The plot is not that original and is like most spy movies, with reasonable amount of twists and suspense to keep the audience engaged. Additional entertainment factor was the results of the chemistry that Cruise and Diaz portrayed which also served to give the movie the comedy aspect that made this movie fun.

If you are looking for a light romance suspenseful comedy, then this is the movie for you.

This afternoon I saw the movie Iron Man 2 at AMC Cinemas, Pacific Place, Admiralty, Hong Kong. One of the movies from my Must See Movies

Many people criticized the movie as not being as good as the previous episode in the sequel, Iron Man. These people did not like the "Tony Stark" character played by Robert Downey Jr. for trying too hard to be funny. Nor did they like the fact that the casting directors: Sarah Finn and Randi Hiller, changed the actor who played "Lt. Col. James 'Rhodey' Rhodes" from Terrence Howard to Don Cheadle. The decision might had been from Howard himself, as he was starting in a new movie Red Tails.

I personally liked the Tony Stark that Downey portrayed. A bit egocentric, a bit arrogant and dare devil. Something that Downey plays very well as he did in Sherlock Holmes and Kiss Kiss Bang Bang.

Someone who stood out in this movie was Mickey Rourke who played a great villain, as he did in The Informers, Domino, Sin City, Rumble Fish and many more. I just wished his character did not die so easily.

The story of this movie was a lot weaker compared to the first movie, may be this was due to the fact that the audience no longer had to be told the Iron Man story. The writers did try to introduce some moments of reminiscing for Tony Stark's childhood, but the plot was too weak and not captivating. The reintroduction of Samuel L. Jackson's character "Nick Fury" and Clark Gregg's character "Agent Coulson" felt half done and kept the audience wanting more. For those who did not see the first Iron Man movie will had no idea where these people came from and why they were helping Tony Stark.

Not to mention unbelievable character "Natalie Rushman / Natasha Romanoff" played by Scarlett Johansson. Natalie reminds me of the other heroine "Æon Flux" from the movie of the same name. May be Marvel was planning another action movie with the "Natalie" character, like they gave Tony Stark a guest appearance in The Incredible Hulk (2008).

After watching the movie I felt the writers and editors were trying to keep the movie within 2 hours I think this movie was entertaining for an afternoon out, but it lacked the interesting twists in the plot to justify the extra "penguin" in my rating.

This evening I saw the movie Date Night at AMC Cinemas, Pacific Place, Admiralty, Hong Kong. One of the movies from my Must See Movies list.

This is a cops and robbers story with a nice twist. The main characters are mistaken for the robbers when in fact they are just a boring suburban couple ("The Fosters") played by Steve Carell and Tina Fey. The Maxwell Smart character of Get Smart that Carell played in 2008 was all over the Phil Foster character. Don't get me wrong it was the perfect way to play the Foster character.

Fey was her usual self, funny and quick on her toes. From the outtakes at the end of the movie during credits, you will see that many of her character's, Claire Foster, lines were ad libs. Which made them more natural. The director/editor choose the best versions for the movie.

The relatively veteran of the movie: Mark Wahlberg, William Fichtner and James Franco, all played minor supporting roles.

If you're looking for a movie to entertain you, gives you some laughs and tears then this is the one to watch.

This evening I saw the movie Old Dogs at JP Theater, Causeway Bay, Hong Kong. One of the movies from my Must See Movies list.

With Seth Green in this movie I had expected it to be a slapstick comedy. Even with John Travolta, who has done great movies: Wild Hogs, Ladder 49, Swordfish, et., in the past I was a bit skeptical. Fortunately, these are not the only two main actors in the movie, there's also the Oscar winning Robin Williams, whom I believe have yet to appear is a bad movie; well may be RV was an exception to that rule. At almost 60, Williams is still able to carry the movie on his own with Travolta playing more as a sidekick and supporting actor.

This movie had a fairly simple plot executed well by Walt Becker. It is about a busy successful man finding the priorities in his life, and pursing them at all cost. Overall there are many touching moments while at the same time contains the humor that is famous in Williams' films.

This is definitely a must see for Williams fans and anyone else who enjoy a happy fun night out to the movies.

This evening thanks to NeonPunch.com I saw the movie premier Sherlock Holmes at JP Theater, Causeway Bay, Hong Kong. One of the movies from my Must See Movies list.

If you are a fan of Arthur Conan Doyle's Sherlock Holmes novels then you will have been looking forward to this version of the movie for some time. For this movie they casted Robert Downey Jr. as Sherlock Holmes and Jude Law as Holmes sidekick, Dr. John Watson. The villain this time is Lord Blackwood played by Mark Strong, and the romantic distraction is Irene Adler played by My Name Is Tanino's Rachel McAdams.

I feel Downey delivered his typical Tony Stark character, which in my opinion does not fit my imagination of how Sherlock Holmes should be. Given that Holmes is a well known character, it is often hard to satisfy movie goers' expectations and preconceptions. On the other hand Law's performance was excellent, he presents a Watson that I expects from the years of reading Sherlock Holmes stories. Having said that the movie was able to keep the audience intrigued by a series of twists and revelations in the plot typical of Holmes stories. The movie ends by revealing the character, professor Moriarty, but comes short of revealing who the actor will be. As fans of Sherlock Holmes will know that Moriarty is the arch nemesis of Holmes, so no doubt if this movie does well in the box office, there will be a sequel.

Aside from the acting, the special effects masters were able to recreate a very believable 19th century London, along with Piccadilly Circus and an unfinished Tower Bridge. Although at times some of the blue screen became apparent in the CGI when mixed with real actors, but having sat so close to the screen I hardly noticed them.

For fans of mystery novels, Sherlock Holmes, Robert Downey Jr. or Jude Law this will be a movie not to miss.

This afternoon I saw the movie Jennifer's Body at UA Cinema, Times Square, Causeway Bay, Hong Kong. Another one of the movies from my Must See Movies list.

This is a comedy thriller staring the Transformers famed Megan Fox and Amanda Seyfried from Mamma Mia!. It is about a young girl living in a small town that has an unlikely best friend, with very little in common, who ends up being possessed by satan, and starts to kill boys in a high school. As you can tell from the description it is a very Buffy-the-Vampire-Killer like plot.

I believe most male audiences went to the movie because of Fox and most females are only there because their male counter parts ask them to. Fox is not even sexy in this movie.

I would normally remove this movie from my Must See Movies list, but I wanted to make sure this review is accessible as many places as possible.

The only good thing about this movie is the sound track, which I may purchase a few tracks from the iTunes Store. I suggest you rent this movie from iTunes Store when it becomes available even if you are a fan of Fox, hence my 2-penguin rating.

This evening I saw the movie Up at AMC Theater, Pacific Place, Admiralty, Hong Kong. Another one of the movies from my Must See Movies list.

Pixar again impressed me with another original movie. Great plot mixed with the signature Pixar humor, which no one else in the animation industry can mimic. Sony Pictures, Disney Pictures and Dreamworks all tried and failed drastically.

This was the fifth movie from Pixar's own, Pete Docter. His story telling is very good. The voice actors were outstanding, particularly the 9 year old Jordan Nagai. This was Nagai's first acting gig, although he did not use his face to act, he did a great job with his voice. Nagai is definitely someone to watch in the future. Of course, we could not forget the very talented animators who portrayed the characteristics of each of the voice actors behind the animated characters they were playing.

The previews of the movie really did not do the movie justice. Like all other Pixar feature films of the past: WALL-E (2008), Ratatouille (2007), Cars (2006), Incredibles (2004), Finding Nemo (2003), and Monster Inc. (2001)

, Up contained a deep story and message about life, while subtle humor and common stereotypes scattered through out the movie. There were so many funny, touching, and ah-ha moments.

This was the first time I'd ever experienced the latest in 3D technology, Real 3D. I almost did not go for the 3D version as the seats were not that great, but not I'm really glad I did. The Real 3D effect in addition to the great plot gave me a total immersion experience. The images were incredible, you could see the fine details of the feathers on birds, hairs on dogs and even the reflections of tears in the character's eyes. I really believe digital animated movies to be most suited for Real 3D. Doing such a production for a regular movie with human actors would had been impractical.

Without giving any of the story or the ah-ha moments I will stop here and strongly recommend you go see the 3D version at a theater. Do not seat too close and try to get a center seat, but because this is a 3D movie, seats on the sides are also great seats.

This evening I saw the movie Duplicity at UA Cinema, Time Square, Causeway Bay, Hong Kong. Another one of the movies from my Must See Movies list.

I always enjoy movies with Julia Roberts and this one was no exception, but she was the only one any good. I never liked Clive Owen and his movies and I think this would have been a better movie if the cast were different. George Clooney and Brad Pitt would have been much better choices as Roberts' partner in the movie.

It is a movie about corporate espionage between two rival corporation. Where Roberts and Owen are playing both sides for their self gain.

When the movie begins; actually during the first 15 minutes of the movie, you may be lost looking for the plot to begin. This is not surprising as you are dropped in the middle of a story about two spies. It is not until two thirds into the movie that you get the whole plot and back story. I guess this was the writers' way of keeping suspense for a very weak plot.

If it was not for Roberts I would have given this 1 penguin like I did with most other Owen's movies.
