Movie Review: Terminator Salvation

My Rating: 4Stars

This afternoon I saw the movie Terminator Salvation at UA Cinema, Time Square, Causeway Bay, Hong Kong. Another one of the movies from my Must See Movies list.

It has been six years since the last movie in the Terminator franchise, Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines (2003) and 25 years since the first movie, The Terminator (1984). Each of the movies in the franchise had mentions of John Connor; this time played by Christian Bale. This movie gave us, the audience, a refreshing in-depth look at the story of John Connor and the life on Earth (the year 2018) during the machine up rising for the first time.

Lately there had been quite a few prequels where producers and studios capitalized on the fame and, most part, fortune of old block busters. Although, in the case of the Terminator franchise, it is more like a sequel, as the past three movies had been time travels back in time to 1984, 1991 and 2003 respectively.

The special effects in the movie were impressive. It was real enough that the audience would not be able to tell where the CGI begins and the real character ends. The story is always something Terminator fans had wondered about for the past 25 years; except for the one who read the books.

One thing a bit strange was the appearance of a Terminator regular, not sure the purpose of the appearance as it was not necessary and the appearance only made the audience broke out laughing.

This is definitely a must see for Terminator fan. If you are a true fan and have a weak bladder, you will need to check out RunPee before you enters the theater.
