Movie Review: Along Came Polly (2004)

I just saw the movie “Along Came Polly” at Broadway Olympian Theatre this evening, starring “Ben Stiller” and “Jennifer Aniston”.

It is a good funny love story. A truely enjoyable evening out. Ben Stiller performs his usual best underdog who ends up winning the woman resulting in a happy ending for all.

Question What’s Advertised

One cannot always believe what is advertised! While sitting at a Starbucks in Causeway Bay; which I often do. I notice the truck in this photo. Would you think twice about hiring this moving company, “Reliance…”?Take a look at the cartoon egg on the side of the truck. Do you see what I see?I guess in this case the word “Reliance” may not apply.

Slow Politicians

Is this a trait of a successful politician? Or should should the question be – are these successful politicians?

I understand that one should think clearly before one speak especially during a speech.

Although, the behaviour of some of the politicians now a day are really baffling to me.

Tung

One is “Tung Chee Hwa” of Hong Kong, SAR. His speeches can put any insomnia sufferer to sleep in seconds. Not only are his speeches in mono tone, he also speaks very slowly, pulsing every 2 to 3 words. I do not know the full medical health of Mr. Tung, but may be the pluses are the result of his health and double chins. It may be causing him to take frequent deep breaths between words.

Chen

The other politician who has this trait is “Chen Shui Bian” of Taiwan. Although, Mr. Chen does not have the physic of Mr. Tung, so may be it is because Mr. Chen does not have enough staff to write his speeches. But you do see Mr. Chen holding a stack of paper with him during his speeches.

So your guess is as good as mind.

Attempt Assassination in Taiwan

Today the president of Taiwan was shot during a pre-election day possession.

The attempt failed by just injuring the President and the Vice President.

It is the day before the Taiwanese election, and the current president is at a very close race with the opposition party head. There are already rumors that the president may have arranged this himself to gain sympathy votes.

I guess anything is possible, given the Taiwanese parliament is the only government where fights often break out during parliament sessions.

What have the world come to, just for a political win?

eNetworking

Yesterday I was introduced to a web site for business networking. It is called “LinkedIn.Com“, it is essentially a personal network like “Friendster.Com” and alike. The difference is LinkedIn requires referrals from individuals in the immediate network level, before one can contact someone else on subsequent network levels. Therefore, it is very similar to real life business networking, providing the necessary privacy one requires.

Are we Homophobic by nature?

In Asia one will see females holding hands or walking around with their arms around each other, but most of these people are not homosexuals. They are used to expressing friendship by this method. In North American standards this behaviour would be labeled homosexual behaviour.

Is this because North Americans are too conservative or Asians more open mined?
