Developments of Hybrid

Recently I notice both Toyota and its Lexus brand have made hybrids. These are not the typical hippie boring family car, but the Highlander and Camry models for Toyota and GS and RX models for Lexus. Honda did not stand still either, they have hybrid models of their Civic models. There are other American manufactures who also produces hybrid models. Luxury manufactures like: Mercedes and Porsche also have respective hybrid models at a even higher premium.

Even these modern alternatives do not compare to the offerings from Tesla Motors, a 100% electric car, that produce performance of 0 – 60 mph in less than 4 seconds, while still offer a 135-mpg equivalent efficiency. Although the price tag is a whopping USD98K for the base model.

Now manufactures like Audi is one upping its Q7 Hybrid, by introducing the A1 Sportback Hybrid concept. All this is very exciting to see, making the choice of purchasing a hybrid is no longer a decision that requires compromising on esthetics. Since the environment really needs us to do our part.
